About this tour
A slower trip built around the coast and national parks. You start and finish in Bentota, with Galle Fort, Mirissa, Tangalle, Yala and Udawalawe in between. Distances are short, so there is time on the beach.
Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Airport to Bentota
Drive down the expressway to Bentota. Relax on the beach, with an optional river boat trip on the Bentota River.

Day 2: Bentota to Mirissa via Galle
Visit Galle Fort and walk the ramparts, then continue to Mirissa for the sunset on the beach.

Day 3: Mirissa to Tangalle
Take an optional early whale-watching trip (season roughly November to April, never guaranteed). Then drive to Tangalle. In the evening, join an optional guided turtle-watching walk at Rekawa.

Day 4: Tangalle to Yala
Drive to the Yala area and take an afternoon jeep safari looking for leopards, elephants and birds.

Day 5: Yala to Udawalawe
Go on an early-morning safari in Yala, then drive to Udawalawe for an afternoon safari among the elephant herds.

Day 6: Udawalawe to Bentota
Visit the Elephant Transit Home at feeding time if it fits, then drive to Bentota for a relaxed beach evening.

Enjoy a free morning, with an optional visit to Brief Garden or the Madu River, then drive to the airport.

Is airport pickup included?
Yes. Your driver meets you at the airport on day 1 and takes you back for your flight on the last day. Send us your flight details when you book.
What is included in the price?
The price includes the vehicle, fuel, an English-speaking driver, the driver's accommodation, highway tolls and parking. Entrance and safari fees, and your own hotels and meals, are not included.
Can you help with hotels?
Hotels are booked separately and are not included in the price. Tell us your budget and preferences, and we will suggest suitable places along the route.
