Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Airport to Dambulla and Sigiriya
Drive north from the airport. Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple with its painted caves and Buddha statues, then check in near Sigiriya.

Day 2: Sigiriya Rock and a jeep safari
Climb Sigiriya Rock early, before the heat, to see the frescoes, the Mirror Wall and the water gardens. In the afternoon, take a jeep safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla, depending on where the elephants are.

Day 3: Polonnaruwa to Kandy
Explore the ruins of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital, including the Gal Vihara Buddha statues. Then drive to Kandy and, if time allows, attend the evening ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth.

Day 4: Kandy to the airport
Walk by Kandy Lake and visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya if time allows. Then drive to the airport for your flight.

The price includes the vehicle, fuel, an English-speaking driver, the driver's accommodation, highway tolls and parking. Entrance and safari fees, and your own hotels and meals, are not included.

Hotels are booked separately and are not included in the price. Tell us your budget and preferences, and we will suggest suitable places along the route.
